Tagline doesn’t change

  • No matter what I enter in the Tagline of the Customize Site Identity page, the change doesn’t register on the site. Solutions?

    Hello Karen – if the tagline is not showing up, it’s possible you have the banner caption entered? Try changing it here under Appearance > Customize > Front Page > Front Page – Banner: https://prntscr.com/dhd33i

    Bingo! (Not sure I understand the difference between tagline and banner caption, though, or why it matters?)

    How do you not get fed up with such basic mistakes on the part of users like me?

    I do understand your confusion and we can look into updating the theme to use the tagline when no caption is present – I think that would be more intuitive.
