• Hiya,

I’ve come across a problem when sharing to Facebook. At the bottom of the share it has the website title and below that the tagline.

Although I changed the tagline ages ago it shows up in the share as “Just another WordPress site”.

I’ve tried refreshing everything and purged caches etc but unable to sort.

Any idea where I can look next?

If you have made recent changes to a post or to your site, you may need to use the Facebook debugging tool to clear out the cache it has. You do need to have a Facebook account to use this. If it’s continuing to show after using that, you may need to double check that the old tagline is not somehow still being added to your pages’ OpenGraph tags (you’ll need to check a page’s source code and look for og: tags). Thanks Robin. I wasn’t aware of the Facebook Debugger. It certainly helped to see when fixed.

The exact problem was my Coming Soon page stopping Facebook scraping the site. The debugger certainly helped to discover that.

    Many thanks.
