• I have been searching for the fix . . . Another thread here says the problem is resolved. It is NOT. Every tag gets transformed into all lower case letters. As you can see on the page I have referenced, the author’s name is a tag (so users can find all references on my site to that writer). But in the caption under her photo, her name appears in all lower case letters rather than in the correct format I typed into the post: Susan Meissner. Please advise how to correct this. Thank you!

    @jhsesq Thanks for using TaxoPress.

Is this problem only under in the caption, or in all areas of your content?

    Thread Starter JH Siess, Esq.

    (@jhsesq)

It happens throughout the posts the first time the term that is a tag is used, as well as if the term that is a tag is not within a hyperlink.

So, for example, in the post I linked above, the author’s name, Susan Meissner, is a tag. Her name is not properly capitalized in the caption, but it is fine in the body of the review because that is where I inserted the link to her website.

Similarly, the title of the book, Only the Beautiful, is a tag. The first time it appears in the body of the review, it is not properly capitalized, but the plugin left it as I typed it each of the subsequent times it appears.

This doesn’t work for me. I need a way to fix it or I will have to disable the plugin.

    Thanks.

Hi @jhsesq. This isn’t something we’re able to see in our testing.

Please test to see if you can debug this more:

    • Do you have Classic Editor or a page-builder? Does it help to change the editor?
    • Are the problematic links always inside some specific HTML such as figcaption?
    Thread Starter JH Siess, Esq.

    (@jhsesq)

Disabling the Classic Editor plugin makes no difference

I had to Google “figcaption.” Had never heard of it, have never used it. I just use [caption][/caption].

    Hi @jhsesq

Everyone else who reported this problem says it has been fixed with the latest release. Sorry, there’s not that much we can do from the outside apart from suggesting that you keep testing.

    • Does it help if you change settings inside Auto Links?
    • Does it help if you disable other plugins one-by-one?
    Thread Starter JH Siess, Esq.

    (@jhsesq)

Yes, I turned off the creating auto links function & that resolved the issue.

What a bummer. I liked giving my readers the option to just click on the link to learn more about an author or their book(s).

Will this problem be resolved with a future update? I hope so.

    Thanks.

Hi @jhsesq. Please check these two specific questions:

    • Does it help if you change any settings inside Auto Links?
    • Does it help if you disable other plugins one-by-one?
    Thread Starter JH Siess, Esq.

    (@jhsesq)

    No to both.

    (@stevejburge)

@jhsesq Sorry, this problem remains isolated to your site. We’ve not had any more reports of this in the latest version of TaxoPress.

Unfortunately, I am having the same issue. Please go to https://www.wildcatworld.com/2023/06/26/kentucky-basketball-adda-tre-mitchell-to-2023-24-roster/ to see this behavior in action. I disabled auto-links and upper-case names were displayed as they should. Enabled auto-links and, voila, still seeing lower case letters where I should be seeing upper case letters. I am at version 3.8.0.

    Thanks in advance.

@jhsesq @3ptshots Please post here with specific details of how we can see the error: https://github.com/TaxoPress/TaxoPress/issues/1683

We’ve continued to test but can’t recreate the problem.

Version 3.9 should fix this issue.

    Thread Starter JH Siess, Esq.

    (@jhsesq)

Unfortunately, verion 3.9 did not correct the problem. Same issue persists even though I have employed the dropdown option to use the case found in the post content. STILL all links created are displayed in lower case text.

    Very frustrating.

OK, thanks. At this point, there are two options:

    1. Meet us in the middle and help us fix this. You can do this by providing specific, detailed steps of how we can see the error: https://github.com/TaxoPress/TaxoPress/issues/1683. Or:
    2. Use TaxoPress Pro support and we can login and debug your site.
