    Hi Hesham,

I have several sites with Genesis Framework. I’d like to know if I can do the following with your plugin:

“One tip. When you are optimizing a page, especially category pages, let’s say you have the category page Capitol Hill, Seattle for your real estate site. Tag it with the Schema.org property sameAs, the Capitol Hill word, and link that sameAs to the Wikipedia page of Capitol Hill.”

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    Hi Elena,

I just read it, pretty thoughfull!

Schema plugin markup category pages as a CollectionPage, it dose output these properties:

    – headline
    – description
    – url
    – hasPart (which includes markup of all posts listed in this specific category page)

I will add support for SameAs in the coming update, in version 1.5.9.8 release.

Hi Hesham, thanks a lot! It’s a really interesting tip for SEO so it’d be great if you add this, even as a premium feature, an advantage, I would love to blog about it.
So how is this plugin compatible with the built-in schema markup in Genesis themes?
    Thank you for your work

I’ve released the update. In version 1.5.9.8, there is new custom field called “sameAs” in the category edit page, this is where you can add the Wikipedia or Freebase page URL.

If you are using Genesis, the Schema plugin will remove some of the markup that is generated by Genesis and output its own markup in JSON-LD format, this to avoid markup duplication, which could confuse search engines. I can say that the plugin is fairly compatible with Genesis framework.

Please, rate Schema plugin is you find it useful.

Hi Hesham, I’m amazed! I just rated it.
    2 questions though:
    a. any way to add that specific sameAs on single pages and posts and not only on the category page? This is an advantage for SEO.
    b. So i don’t need to install your other plugin Schema Removal?
    Best

    And how can we donate?

    Hi Elena,

Thanks for rating the plugin, I appreciate it ??

    a) That makes sense, I’ve just released an update 1.5.9.9

The update includes support for sameAs in post, pages or any post type that is enabled in the Schema plugin. There is a new post meta box called “sameAs” to define URLs in post editor page.

    b) Schema Removal will remove all markups (example: WPHeader, SiteNavigationElement, SideBar, etc.), but Schema plugin will only remove the main entity markup and replace it with the markup you decide. So, mostly you don’t need to use Schema Removal.

Thanks for asking, you can use this link to donate. Much appreciated.
