tag P in the excerpt

You could use the_excerpt_rss(). It provides an unformatted excerpt.

Put in the event you wanted to use an IMG-tag inside the excerpt, you’d have to use the_excerpt instead of the_excerpt_rss. Any other suggestions to remove the P-tags?

I know this thread is old, but I had to hop in here and thank you for this. I was really looking for a way to accomplish using the excerpt inside a link description, w/o having to modify the way the standard excerpt looks and works.
