    I installed Tag Manager with the help of site kit. I thought it was useless for me so I removed everything related for it and even deleted site kit as my plug in. However, everytime I check my website’s speed suing Pagespeed Insights, there are still js related to tag manager running.
    I thought it was because of my google analytics code so I decided to remove the code
    <script async src=”https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-XXXXXXXXX-X”></script&gt;
    from the GA code but as expected, my GA stopped working.
    I only want GA to run on my site. What should I do to completely remove tag manager from my website?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Thanks for opening support ticket.

    We have reviewed your site & it seems one of the plugin GDPR Cookie Consent (CCPA Ready) is causing the issue as its more relevant to that by seeing text type of the script. Please disable this & then check again.

    Hi Abdullah,
    Thank you for your response.
    I tried your suggestion but https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-XXXXXXXX-X is still running on my site according to PageSpeed Insights.
    Is there no way to stop it?

    Hi

    Basically Site Kit uses gtag.js to implement Google Analytics, so this isn’t a Tag Manager specific container snippet, just a GTAG implementation of Google Analytics via Site Kit.

    If you want to disconnect Analytics temporarily that should no longer appear.

    Have a great weekend ahead!
