I believe I have some tag errrors, if this is the case. I was hoping someone could help me pin-point exactly what is wrong. My index and category pages are a complete mess and not formatted.

    My website: https://www.inside-apple.com

anyone that can help me pinpoint what the error is that would be great

I have tried different themes and have the same issue all round.

  • Looks like there is an issue with your analytics tracking code and some tags not being closed properly. I’m not sure how you have the code implemented into your site but I would look over wherever you pasted the code in and review it for errors.

There was an option in my previous themes settings to put it in in the theme options, so I put it their.

    Any ideas?

So by previous theme do you mean that you recently switched themes and this error occurred? If a theme is designed correctly it shouldn’t be leaving old code behind so it could be an issue with the old theme you were using.

It could also be an issue with a plugin you are using. Are you aware of any plugins that you have installed that are used for inserting analytics tracking code?

Also, it could be that your current theme has the error inside of it and the theme author didn’t bother to test it properly for public use.

It happened when I changed themes then had to put in my tracking code. Now any theme I use has the same issue of their being no format to my site.

Which theme were you using when you input your tracking code? Have you tried switching to the default Twentyten/Twentyeleven themes to see if the error still exists?

    Just about to try that!

Have a look it still seems as though not a lot has really changed in terms of format

Well that is the correct layout/format for the Twentyten theme. However I notice that the analytics tracking code is still being displayed at the bottom of the theme which leads me to believe there is a plugin that is trying to insert the code in there.

Do you know where I can edit it out from?

Most likely the plugin’s settings page but I don’t know exactly which (if any) plugin is inserting the code. It looks like you have a WordPress SEO plugin installed and I know that those can sometimes allow people to insert tracking codes.

I would go through the list of your plugins settings pages and see if you can find any area that allows you to input the tracking code.

Could the fact that I have 4 different stylesheets be an issue?

No because of where the code is displaying it has nothing to do with stylesheets.

What .php file would it be under do you think?

If it isn’t in a plugin it would most likely exist inside of footer.php.

So I have deactivated all plug ins and that solved it, just need to work out which one! Thanks for all the help guys really appreciate it!!
