• I just updated WP & the style I had set for my tag cloud is no longer working . I had it set to center align by putting that in an embedded style sheet (I’m not exactly sure where I did that!). In any case, that’s no longer working. I’ve tried to edit style.css, but it’s not effecting any change.

I’d also like to prevent breaking of tags across lines (all my tags are people’s names and I want to keep first & last names together). I’d rather have only one tag in a line than have them broken up.

(I have another post up here about being unable to edit widgets in my dashboard, so if that’s a solution to this problem I have to fix that first)

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Did you try removing your tag cloud widget from the sidebar area, move it into the inactive widget area, saving the change and then reactivating the widget? Maybe after you did the upgrade it got goofed up in the transition if the widget was in the sidebar during the upgrade. You might also want to try reverting back to the default theme while the widget is inactive, and then go back to your preferred theme. Perhaps that might fix it, unless you changed some codes that need to be fixed?

I can’t edit or drag my widgets. They’re frozen as is (I can’t even see the settings only that they are there).

Although your problem seems to be only in the admin area, and not so much on the front end, did you try reverting to the default template, saving that and then seeing if you can access the widgets? The reason I ask is after I upgraded I had a problem with accessing my widgets in the admin panel until after I deactivated the theme I was trying out. Then the widgets righted themselves thereafter. Also, is your current theme compatible with the 2.9.2 version of WP?

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it & I can’t edit or drag widgets when the Default theme is activated either.

I’m not sure if my current theme is compatible. This widget issue seems to be the only glitch. I haven’t updated all of my plugins yet. I’m going to try that next & see what happens. I can’t go back to my old version of WP because the server is running an updated version of PHP that the old WP didn’t like.

You may need to not only deactivate the theme, but possibly delete it from your files if it’s the theme that’s causing the issue. Also, if your plugins were active when you did the upgrade, that could have caused the issue. Hopefully once you get those things deactivated you can find the cause of the problem.
