I’m running version 4.3 of wordpress on my site (www.largecarmag.com). I’ve been using NextGen since 2011 without any issues, and in fact the plugin is still functioning without any problems. Nevertheless, I’m being given the error “NextGEN Gallery: Tables could not created, please check your database settings” whenever I login to my dashboard. I’m not overly concerned since the plugin seems to be behaving normally, but it’s still an odd error to see. My site relies heavily on NextGen, so if it were to fail it would be a huge problem for me.

    Thanks for any help!

@timhookoo – Thanks for creating your own topic!

This message is often related to the WordPress database user (generally not any of your log in users) not have *ALL* privileges, have you checked if that is the case for your WordPress database?

Yes, I checked and my database user has all necessary permissions. I never had this issue before, but I’ve had NextGen installed for years. Everything seems fine, so it’s possible that it’s a bug or a plugin conflict.

@timhookoo – If all was working fine, do you recall what changed since the last time it did work correctly? I would suspect a conflict is now occurring and whatever changes that may have taken place would be the most likeliest place(s) to start looking first.

The most recent change I made was upgrading to the latest version of wordpress and updating plugins. I have yet to disable my plugins as a test, so I’ll go that route next.

@timhookoo – The current version of WordPress is not an issue but there could be something in the other plugins that you updated.

    Thanks!
