    Hi Tobias,

when creating a new table in tablepress, my caching plugin “Quick Cache Pro” gives me the following message:

Quick Cache: detected changes. Found 1 file in the cache for TablePress Tables ID: 2589; auto-clearing.

After having written just a few words in one cell of the new table and having saved it, I get the following messages:

Quick Cache: detected changes. Found 2 files in the cache for XML sitemaps; auto-clearing.

Quick Cache: detected changes. Found 2 files in the cache for Author Page: Thomas; auto-clearing.

My problem now is: This was a brand-new created table which is nowhere embedded on my site. So why would it affect my XML sitemap for example? Also the author page?!

Could you explain this behaviour? My point is: I don’t want the content of tables that I don’t embed on my site being visible to anyone except myself (admin user) and these three messages I got displayed by my caching plugin (listed above) really do make me curious (to say the least…)

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not really sure how I can help here. TablePress does not make tables public in any way. They will only be public if the Shortcode is added to a public post/page/

Now, my assumption here is that the caching plugin is not strict enough when integrating itself with other “Custom Post Types” (TablePress uses that for the data storage).
I can therefore only suggest that you ask the Quick Cache support team about those messages.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

thanks for getting back so quickly.

So, anyhow, I can rest assured that tables / their content will not be available in any public way unless their shortcode is added to a post or a page and that there is nothing, a caching plugin could change in this respect, am I correct?

    Thanks

    Thomas

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome!

Yes, you can rest assured here (unless, of course, the other plugin manipulates that TablePress settings for the Custom Post Type, but I doubt that).
To double-check, you could open the generated sitemap and manually try opening the URLs that might be in there for a table (as a logged-out user).

    Regards,
    Tobias
