    Hello,

I have tablepress plugin and Table Row Order extension installed.
My wp_posts table collation is utf8mb4_turkish_ci

Unfortunately when I order rows ASC, or DESC with tablepress, all turkish characters starting with ?,?,?,? etc comes at the end and not at correct order.
How can I fix this characters issue?

    Best

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately, don’t know a solution to this. The sorting is done by PHP here, which apparently sorts this by “alphabet”, where the normal characters come first and only then come these special characters.

    Hi Tobias,

    Thanks for quick reply.

Sorting is done by PHP or MySQL ORDER BY?

Because I found really interesting behaviour here. When I look from the wordpress dashboard -> TablePress->All Tables -> Preview it seems that it is sorting correctly including special characters.
But When I put this table to a page then it is putting this special characters to the end. So I think this is something we can fix. How can I can send you screenshot ?

    Hi,

the sorting is done in PHP (if you are using the Table Row Order Extension).

For screenshots, please upload them to e.g. https://imgur.com/ and post a link here.

Yes I am using Table Row Extension.

Here I put my screen shots. In screen shots you can see Turkish Letters are also coming in correct order in TablePress Preview section. But when we put this in page it starts to put Turkish Letters to the end.

    Hi,

well, if everything is okay there, I can only suggest to not use the Table Row Order Extension. The order in the Preview is your manual order from adding the data.

Ok, but how can we add new rows later in correct order? I think there is no way to do it.
We can not slide all rows one by one ??

    Hi,

to add new data, you could either insert them in the correct place (click the checkbox on the left of a row and then use the “Insert” button), or you move it up/down with drag & drop (by clicking and holding the row number on the left).

    Regards,
    Tobias
