    Hello,

i am a happy user of your plugin and i have been using these two plugins for a while,

TablePress + TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables.

But now i got this info from my wordpress “security” plugin:

…..”The Plugin “TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables” appears to be abandoned (updated 10 March, 2021).

Is that the case and should i remove this plugin or will i miss some features which is not in the

    “normal plugin TablePress ?

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

Indeed, the “TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables” has been retired over 1.5 years ago. It will no longer receive updates nor support.

However, that fact alone does not make it insecure, of course.

Now, there’s more though: Due to upcoming changes in TablePress, later this year, the Extension will partly stop working. If you want to continue using its features, I suggest checking the options at https://tablepress.org/upgrade-extensions/

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thanks for your answer and taking your time to help me understand the future of this plugin.

And if i read the link you provided correct, then there is no available free feature like the ones which is in the in the:

    “TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables”

And i recall the reason why i had to install the above plugin due to some “responsiveness” error on my page in the past, which you helped me to be solved with the above plugin.

Will i have the same problem again then later this year if i continue with the free version ? when i cant use the “TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables” 100%

    Thanks for your help !

    Hi,

indeed, the free version only has “Horizontal Scrolling” built-in.

Regarding the Extension: After updating to TablePress 3 later this year, if you want to stay with the free version of TablePress, the “Collapse” mode will no longer work. The “Stack” mode will break due to misapplied styling. The “Flip” and “Scroll” modes are not affected and will work fine.

So, depending on which mode of responsiveness you want to use (see https://tablepress.org/modules/responsive-tables/ for examples), you will indeed either have this problem again or you will need to switch to a different mode for responsiveness.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
