Tablepress is brilliant and works well with my theme. When I downloaded and activated this extension it broke lots of my site which runs a Genesis child theme.

    Key things that were broken

    – Jetpack sharing
    – The Genesis featured front page
    – Various genesis widgets
    – header image
    – the actual table tools pushed the table to the left and looked ‘wrong’ in the page layout. So I don’t think it was WAD.

    Deactivating fixed the issue

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

You mean simply activating the DataTables TableTools Extension broke those things? I can’t really think of a reason why that would happen, as the Extension only loads a CSS file after being activated. Only if you also add the Shortcode parameter, it will also load some JS.

Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

That’s what I thought to! I can’t have it live on the site as it breaks it so I will create a sandbox site for you and give you login access.

I deactivated all plugins and reactivated and the extension was the one that cause the problem.

if you could send me an email to deniso @ [myusername].co.uk I’ll give you the full details

    Hi,

just for everybody following this thread: I’ve been working on this directly with Denis, and we found that the Autoptimizer plugin somehow had issues with merging and re-minifying the CSS.
Adding the Extension’s CSS file “TableTools.min.css” to the list of exceptions fixed the issue.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
