    Hi,
    You plugin is really great and it’s addon column filter widgets also good but is there a way the ColumnFilterWidgets only show the dropdown value which we somehow add inside || or “” etc.

    did you understand what i mean ? Like currently it get the column from column automatically and show it as dropdown but what i want for example if we have two value in column eg we have follow in column

    Woodsman
    -Bearded Bastard
    Now i want dropdown only show Woodsman. Is that something possible to do ? Thanks.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Sorry, showing only partial content of a cell is not possible, from what I know. Your best option here should be to add another but hidden column with just the desired contents. Then, you could show the dropdown for that (hidden) column, but hide the dropdown for the actual column, by adding the parameter datatables_columnfilterwidgets_exclude_columns="2" (with the correct column) to the Shortcode.

    Thanks for quick reply. It’s sad to hear that we can show partial content of the column into drop-down. As for as your solution i like it but does drop-down will show if we set column hidden ?? Ok i will try that but i think it will not work like that.

    Tobias i just try to add another column and set it hide and it’s not showing dropdown ?? The hidden feature hide both column and dropdown. Is there a way we can only hide the column not the dropdown ? I must appreciate your help thanks.

    hahaha I find a way to do that. I make another column and just hide it using css Thanks Tobias for idea.

    yes, the column needs to be hidden via CSS. Sorry for not mentioning that. Great to hear that you found this though, and that it’s working now ??
