For some possible approaches to this, you could use the Responsive Tables feature module that is part of the TablePress Premium versions.

Hi,

TablePress offers an option for this in the “Table Options” section on each table’s “Edit” screen.

(If you are still seeing the effect even after unchecking this checkbox, this means that another plugin or your theme is also adding such an effect.)
