    Hi Tobias,

I saw somewhere here that there is a limit to the number of cells in a table. I tried to load 900 rows of 8 columns and experienced an “unresponsive page” after a considerable delay. However, there is a workaround. If one turns off “user scrolling” in the TablePress options, one cant’scroll and the “Next” and “Previous’ buttons don’t work. One can, however, “Search” which works fine.

BUT, the option to turn off scrolling appears at the bottom of the table which again causes a crash. If you can, could you put a link to the options before the Table row display?

Perhaps you could also advise would-be users of the table size limitation?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

First: There is no fixed limit for the rows or columns in TablePress. There are however practical limits, caused by things like server speed, internet connection, browser, memory, etc. Unfortunately, those can’t really be influenced.

Now, the settings that you mention affect the frontend, thus they are governed by the browser and its speed when executing JavaScript code.
Regarding the settings in the admin area: You can move these to the top yourself. I recommend doing this on the “Edit” screen of a small table (just create a new one, if you don’t have one). Then, you can drag/drop the “Features of the DataTables JS library” box to the top.

    Regards,
    Tobias
