Table Size / Column Widths

I’m having a difficult time with column widths and overall table size.

I’ve read all the facts and other questions in support.

For one thing, the overall table size is huge for the seven skinny columns that I have.

I’ve tried changing column widths, but the code only seems to work on one column at a time.

I’ve tried changing the padding but the row heights just get wider.

Setting the table size and column widths should be one of the simplest things to do – I don’t understand why I can’t set the column widths so the table looks as nice as it functions?
