-
Hi Support,
Site use wc-vendors(1.7.9) plugin and table rate shipping.
Vendors not getting commission on shipping. In settings give shipping for commission is checked.
After checking code, there is no function to calculate table rate shipping in wc vendors.
Can you help with this.
Thanks

Play around with the Pro Dashboard and see how it works yourself. I think you are overcomplicating things a lot. Product + Price = Total. Easy as that. ??
I will go play again :). The product shipping is very different if I order a fridge from a vendor down the street as opposed to a vendor warehouse 5 states away. I will go play with it some more and see if I can figure it out. ??
This is true. The demo is set for “Flat Rate”. You can also do “Country Table Rate” which is not seen on the dev site. That would give you
US FL $9.99
US CA $199.99
US OR $249.99
US <empty> $49.99which means, Florida is $10, CA is $200, OR is $250 and all other states $50 to ship.
Now you may ship your fridge in peace. ??

Thanks. I went looking and found that video which was helpful. I will have to play around some more with it tommorrow. Does it calculate each individual product’s shipping charge in the cart? E.g. Customer ships to NY but ItemA comes from TX, ItemB comes from CA, Item 3 comes from OH. This kind of would solve the weight calculation problem but I would just have to look up and calculate the rates of all products to all places/zones and just enter them in the products. Sorry for all the questions but I can play with this part on the dev site.
Thanks!
Yup, if you go to wcvendors.com and look through the KnowledgeBase you’d see the links to the docs and that video, too. wcvendors.com is a wealth of information.
Yes, calculations happen in the cart, and on the checkout page. It’s just a normal shipping module for WooCommerce, just customized for WC Vendors Pro is all. ??
I will definitely need to use the table rate shipping. I am gong to be [using] a lot of vendors so each vendor will have to be assigned to their product(s) and I will have to setup the rates for each product to each state correct? I dont know if I will have to get more specific than that such as to zipcode [ranges] but if I dont, then what I previously mentioned is what I will have to do correct? Setting the rate for each product specifically will be the solution to not having a weight calculation I guess but that is a looot of initial calculation. Please let me know asap as I need to get this plugin ASAP.
Thanks!
If you use Country Table Rate, then yes, you would set up country code and state code (e.g., US FL $5.99) in the shipping settings globally, or for each product.
Set it globally first, then just change the products that are very different for shipping and you’re good to go. ??
Sounds like we have a deal. When I return home I believe thou shalt hear “cha-ching!” ?? Thanks for the quick support!
Oh, and also, from what I understand, I need to be running the free version of the plugin before I update/install PRO correct? If so, I suppose I can work on adding and assigning vendors to their appropriate products so that I can just add/change the [table] rates once I go pro. “Correctamundo?”
Correctamundo!
Install & Activate WC Vendors Free, Install WC Vendors Pro.
And when you need help with Pro, be sure to go to https://www.wcvendors.com/help/ as there’s a HUGE forum there with thousands of topics and a knowledgebase with setup instructions @ https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/ too.
Cheers

Hey Ben,
I installed the free version and was reading through all the documentation but what I need the most involves the shipping calculation which, for the free version needs the PPS plugin. No point in that since I plan on purchasing the Pro version here.Anyway, since you have updated a bunch in past 3 weeks, my questions before I purchase are:
1)Within a customer’s order, will the shipping for each item be individually calculated from the vendor owner’s address to the customer’s address and summed up for a total shipping cose? I think you said yes 3 weeks ago [above].
2)Will I need to look up the [UPS] shipping rate for each item to each zone (setup as mentioned above) since I dont see a way for the weight to be considered in the shipping rate calculation?
Before I found this plugin, I previously bought and plan[nED] to use Table Rate Shipping plugin since their zone setup was most versatile with wild cards but WCV Pro includes features I really want.
3)I don’t plan on using the commission for the vendors since I will BE each vendor myself but it would be nice to automatically pay the shipping costs directly to the vendor. Possible?
Thanks!
Hi Amirand926,
1.) In PPS they take YOUR STORE base address and calculate shipping. In WC Vendors Pro Vendor Shipping, it takes the VENDORS base address to calculate shipping. ?? +1 for Pro!
2.) Weight is not considered at all. It’s not even remotely a factor.
https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/pro-shipping/ — That video might help you. We have tweaked the layouts of the shipping system and added a bunch more features since it’s release, but the overall gist of the video should be pretty clear. ?? You can, of course, see a working demo of the shipping system here: https://www.wcvendors.com/demo-dev/
Vendor Shipping does not look up rates. That’s the vendors job. Basically, you can “Flat Rate” which is eBay style where shipping is $0, $5, or $15 per product. And you can say that if someone buys more than one of the same products that it charges once or shipping, or stacks it. Then, there is Country Table Rate. That is where you’d enter a price for:
US FL 5.00
US AL 10.00
US NY 15.00
US CA 0
US 25 (Means $25 for shipping in all other states unless specified above).
….etc and keep running through the countries you ship to or each state, whatever works.Vendor sets the default rates in the Pro Dashboard > Settings. And then when they add each product, they can override their defaults by changing them on the products edit page for that actual product.
Additionally, you, the admin, can set default rates in case your vendors dont enter any shipping prices and you want to ensure that they charge something by default, or nothing by default.
Even more fun, you can have some vendors using Flat Rate, and other vendors using Country Table Rate, so that vendors with complex shipping can use CTR, whereas vendors with simpler shipping can just use the Flat Rate Vendor Shipping.
3.) With Vendor Shipping, all shipping is given to the Vendors commissioned account — as long as you have enabled that option in the WC Vendors General Settings tab. You can turn it on or off at any time.
Cheers
