  • Hi Tobias

Firstly, as others have said. What a great plugin. It is so easy to use, but as you may have guessed I am having a few issues trying to integrate it into my site.

Firstly I have added a table into a tabs area (Collections tab) and I have added links to the words in some of the boxes (Landscapes, wave art etc.), however when on the page the links do not appear.

The query with the edit option being available, from what I have read only appears to wordpress users if logged in and can be hidden by using members plugin.

I haven’t tried this yet though.

And the third problem is the text size, but I believe this may be my theme that is causing that.

    The shop page is

    https://www.fluidvisionsphotography.co.uk/shop

Could you possibly help with these issues in anyway.

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

The problem with the links is that the desired link text is standing before the HTML code for the link. You will need to move the text (like “Landscapes”) right before the </a> in the cell.
If you use the “Insert Link” button and type in the link text and target URL there, this should be done automatically.

Please don’t worry about the “Edit” link. Only people who are logged-in and are allowed to edit tables will see that. To verify this, just open the page in a different browser (where you are not logged-in into WordPress).

About the font size: Yes, that’s coming from your theme. I’m not exactly sure why, but there seem to be some flaws in the HTML structure, due to which some CSS rules are applied in the wrong place. In this case, the large font size is only designed to apply to the heading/title of the article/page, but it somehow also affects the article/page content (and with that also the table).
One fix would be to simply set a smaller font size for the table, but that would not fix the actual issue with the wrong HTML. For that, I can only suggest to contact the theme support.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for the really quick response Tobias ??

I will have a go at altering the the links & also speak to the theme designer.

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

yes, that would be the best way to fix those issues. Fixing the links should not take that long, as you can just cut&paste the link text to the correct position.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Links all sorted thank you. Just the size to rectify now and make sure all categories have something to link to.

One other thing which you may be able to help with, if you could possibly wouldn’t mind.

I am trying to add a search option into the third tab, but seem to be drawing a blank on how to do it. Everything I have searched for shows me how to add it to a side bar or to the nag bar, but I would really like one under the search tab to just search tags, categories in the shop area.

Im hoping this is not a case of custom work by a pro.

    Thanks yet again.

    Hi,

good to hear that you were able to fix the links already!

Just to be sure: Where exactly did you add the table Shortcode (and the tabs)? Is that the post content field?

About that search field: Sorry, I have no clue where you would have to add that, as I don’t know the tabbing plugin nor the shop plugin that you are using.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Not a problem. I thought it was worth asking just on the off chance.

The tabs is added to the main post area, and the table short code put in-between the tabs content. Do you think this has something to do with the font size issue?

    Hi,

ok, thanks for the clarification. No, that should be fine then. Something seems to be going on in the theme then.
To verify, you could try to temporarily switch to a different theme, like the WordPress default themes.

    Regards,
    Tobias
