• Hi,

Just a question. Is there a reason why the plugin’s table names are not prefixed with the configured prefix in the wp-config.php file? I have two WP sites on a host that only allows one database and both are sharing the same plugin data. Is there any problem with this?

    Thanks

    Hi!

In terms of plugin functionality there is no reason to use table prefix. If you want to track illegal activity on all of your sites within one database, you, obviously, want to track it identically. If one site has IP blocked why not to have the same IP is blocked on the second site or other sites which are sharing one database.
Hardly ever someone needs to have a different IP Access Lists for different sites in one database. If so, this is an issue.
One issue may appears if you are making backups using software which is rely on table prefix. In this case your IP Access Lists may not be backed up.
Anyway, I am only kind of concerned about backups of ACL.
