Upgraded to the last update. Went in to delete certain rows in the table, checked them, went to delete and just to play safe, saved it.

Continued to do this for the entire table, loads of changes made. Finished, saved it and reloaded the page. Now all the deleted rows are showing again with a check mark next to them.

I went in and took the check marks off. Noticed there is no option to check all or uncheck all, would be helpful if you had this.

Now I went back in to check and things are all messed up. Files I didn’t want deleted were and other issues. This is no longer working properly, not sure what you did to make this happen. I now have to go back and add files that were deleted in error.

What a mess, hours of work. You can see the tables I was working on on our site on this page.

Originally I had one table of all of our members. When a membership expired I simply left the record and indicated it was an expired member.

I decided to copy the one table and make two of them now. One would have the active members the other the expired members. I went into each table to clean them up so that one only showed the active members the other the expired members.

Now I have to go back to my main list of members to add back the ones that were deleted by your plugin in error.

Let me know what happened here.

    Hi Len,

thanks for your post. I’m really sorry that you had such a bad experience after the update ??

Unfortunately, I can’t really think of anything in particular that could have caused this. Neither the code for removing rows, nor the code for the “Edit” screen in general, nor the code for saving a table were changed or touched in the update, so I don’t really think that the update caused this.
I’m especially confused by that “deleted rows are showing again with a check mark next to them”. That is not possible, as the code will not add checkmarks next to the rows when the page is freshly loaded. I can therefore only assume that something showed you a cached version here or that something else interfered (I remember that you had problems with removing/adding rows before, so that’s not unlikely).

By the way: There is an option to (un)select all checkboxes at once: Just use the checkbox on the left of the “ID” label in the header row of the list. That will toggle all checkboxes at once. Additionally, you can (un)select multiple checkboxes at once by clicking the first one and then clicking the last one in the desired range, while holding down the “Shift” key.

You also mention that “files” were deleted. Can you clarify that? Or did you just mean “rows” of a table that contain information about files?

And just to be sure: Were you the only person editing the tables at that time? If e.g. someone else was also working on them, you/he might have overridden each others changes again, which could also explain why rows were suddenly appearing again.

Now, unfortunately, I don’t really know what we could do here, as this seems to be a very isolated issue. I have not received reports about this from anywhere else. We could therefore maybe try reproducing this in a reliable way, so that we can investigate this some more. If you are interested, I can offer to take a direct look at this on your site. If so, could you please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias
