Newbie questions – I could not find an answer seaching about widths.

When I go to edit my table contents the cells are always collapsed to one line.

Can you set this to open each cell by default as every time I do an edit I have to open each column and then row by row.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That sounds strange. Can you maybe take a screenshot of that (you can create one by pressing “Print” on the keyboard on Windows, or Cmd+Shift+3 on a Mac, and then upload it to a service like?https://imgur.com/)?and post the link here?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Indeed, these fields are normally rather narrow after opening the “Edit” screen.

Now, I’m not sure if you have seen it already, but I have recently released TablePress 2.0, which a completely new (and much better and faster) user interface for that “Edit” screen.

That might already solve your problem. Do you maybe want to give it a try? If your site uses WordPress 5.8 or newer, you should actually be seeing an update available on the “Plugins” screen of your site.

If you want to stick with the older version of TablePress (which I don’t really recommend) you could instead also try this approach, which should still work with TablePress 1.14, but requires a bit of manual coding: https://tablepress.org/extensions/input-field-size/

    Regards,
    Tobias
