    Hi Munir,

    I have just started using your Tabs Widget, and would like the text to include a list of bullet points and some other basic formatting.

    Is there a way that this can be done?

    Is there a way to get a text editor to work within the widget?

    Any text entered is displayed as a single paragraph, with the returns at the the end of each line being ignored.

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for using my plugin. I understand your point. However being limited to the Siteorigin’s API we are using there is not such field available which we may use. There is only a simple textarea field and thus i was not able to integrate a visual editor in that widget.

    May be in near future it would be possible but not now ??

    Thanks,
    Munir

    Sure my friend ??

    This situation is pretty limiting.
    I’m using Siteorigin’s products, yours and Ultimate Shortcodes and I’m still unable to deactivate my go-to tab plugins/widget and switch to only using Siteorigin products as there#s no way to format inside the tabs ??

    I really hope there’ll be an easy integration of i.e. Black Studio WYSIWYG widget, without us having to jump through hoops and nest several widgets inside each other to get this feature.

    yes, this would be great …

    hi @ovidiu,

    yeah you are correct it is bit limiting than we may not use it like shortcodes because these are basically widgits, and yes i hope SiteOrigin includes a WYSIWYG editor field type in their API so we can utilize it better.

    For now this all depends on SiteOrigin really, as this plugin is an addon of their API 9Widget bundle plugin)

    Thanks,
    Munir

    Hi all in this thread,

    Long waited update has just done. I have just published the plugin update, and beside fixing some issue this update also includes the TinyMCE editor replacing the text area field from some widgets such as Tabs, Toggles..

    So now you can add basic content formatting to tabs & Toggles as requested.

    Please remember to update SiteOrigin’s main widget bundle plugin as well to the latest version, otherwise you will notice an “Unknown Field” error. because this new TineMCE field type is available with the latest update from SiteOrigin’s Widget bundle API.

    Guys if you like this, please rate my plugin as well.

    Thanks,
    Munir

    hm, just read the changelog:

    2.1
    Added TinyMCE editor to some widgets such as Tabs, toggle

    Will give this a try asap and report back!

    Hi Ovidiu,

    yeah please try and report back ??

    Thanks,
    Munir

    The editor works great but I have a few formatting problems with the output, check it out live here: https://foodandchatter.co.za/new-years-eve-cape-town/

    The top tabs are generated by a plugin I am trying to stop using and replace it with your tab widget which you can see below.

    First of all, the other plugin formats its tabs out of the box pretty nicely, can you help me style your output similarly or can you spot the problem?

    Also, why does your widget use different colors i.e. its a lighter grey then the other plugin?

    Plugin Author Munir Kamal

    (@munirkamal)

    Hi ovidiu,

    Thank you for trying it. Yeah default color was set to grey but you can easily change content color to any color you want, see this screenshot please:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2MZlPVA5cJ7U1F0VldSUzBvQnM/view?usp=drivesdk

    Also i notice that the tabs did not render perfectly on your theme due to the reason your theme css is adding some styling to “li” element, i will try to fix it in next update but please put this css in yoru theme’s css and it will fix this issue.

    .so-widget-tabs-tabs-style-a8736c8b5e1d .tabs li {
      padding: 0 !important;
      list-style-type: none !important;
    }

    Please try & let me know.

    Thanks,
    Munir

    Thanks that helped a lot. I hope you can make the tabs “work out of the box” as much as possible, i.e. if I don’t choose colors it should just use the theme defaults that way I won’t have to go back and edit all my tabs if I ever switch themes…

    Hi Ovidiu,

    Yeah sure. Actually this is my very first plugin on WP.org, hence i am still expeiencing lot of things from user’s input and hopefully i will make this plugin to “Work out of the box” soon.

    Thank you for all your input.

    Regards,
    Munir

    Hi Munir,

    Just wondering, I am using the tab widget and when I create a new tab heading it comes up with a visual / text option, but does not allow to select between them. so all it shows is the insert media button, visual / text and then an editing section. there are no align heading, style etc. buttons, I was sure there was editing tools under the visual section last time i used the widget.

    Can you please confirm.

    Thank you

    Hi wizbanga,

    That should not happen, however i just published another small update, please make sure you have latest version installed and than test again. It should switch b/w text & visual views as normal.

    Thanks,
    Munir
