Tab Titles for login pages

I have searched everywhere for an answer to this and am at a complete loss not only that my author has refused to support the theme for me any more because he feels I am asking him too many questions…. So I am hoping someone can help !!

When I log in as an admin i am taken to my member page instead of the dashboard. Once I am logged in as a member, if I then go to wp-admin I am taken to login.php. If I log in again, I am then taken to my dashboard. I can log straight in through my hosts gateway, so not sure why this is happening. Not only that when it takes me to my member page, the tab title says page not found even though it does find the page. More importantly if I create a new user account as a customer and try to login to my admin panel I get page not found even though I can get in to the admin panel. This is the biggest concern as I dont want my customers seeing that. Has anyone come across this or have any ideas?
