Tab extension t’sepsitename%%
-
Hello,
I’m using Woocommerce 4.6.1, Yoast SEO 15.1.1, and Polylang (English and Dutch).
Currently I have the issue that on the English side I always get an tab extension when clicking on a page, showing this:
– Basket t’sepsitename%%
– Shop t’sepsitename%%I think this has to do with Yoast SEO update, but I’m not sure.
How do I get rid of those extensions?
Thank you!

Hello @asmadahmani
Thanks for reaching out!
Can you please share a URL of one of the affected pages and a screenshot of what you have as SEO title for the page in the Yoast SEO plugin?
Hello Maybellyne,
Where can I send you the URL and Screenshot?
Thanks!
I just did a couple of checks:
– When deactivating the Yoast SEO plugin that extension is gone.
– I tried also doing a rollback to different versions of YOAST SEO to detect whether there’s maybe a conflict with the newest version, but for all versions the same extension reappearsI received today an automatic email from WordPress, warning me that the plugin Yoast SEO caused a fatal fault.
To also answer your question, the SEO title has the normal page title without the extension.
@asmadahmani You can share the URL directly in your response post. As for providing a screenshot, you can include an image in your reply by uploading a screenshot using a tool like https://pasteboard.co/ or something similar, and then pasting the link to the image within your reply.
Hello,
Below you’ll find the link to the contact page on the English side:
https://www.smarthome-comfort.com/en/contact-2/This is the screenshot of the SEO details:
https://pasteboard.co/Jx7gkBh.jpgThank you
In the meantime I used the plugin Health Report and Troubleshooting.
I selected the theme ‘Twenty Twenty’, instead of Flatsome.
I added Woocommerce with Yoast SEO, no problem.
But when I add the combination Yoast SEO and Polylang I get the strange extension. How can I solve this?
thanks
We understand when Yoast SEO, WooCommerce, Poylang plugins alongside Flatsome theme is active, you see an additional
t'sepsitename%%
in the SEO title for the English version of the page. For example, you have shared the contact page and we were able to reproduce the issue on our end.Since the issue doesn’t occur when the Polylang plugin is disabled, we think this is either an issue specific to the Polylang plugin or specific to your setup. So, we’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
We also understand that you want us to resolve the issue for you before you may decide to take the premium. However, since we’ll need to take a look at the issue directly on your setup, it is mandatory that you have the premium support that comes with the premium subscription where we can privately investigate the issue further for you.
Hello,
This is not a Polylang specific issue, because when I disable Yoast SEO I also don’t see the issue.
If I purchase the Yoast SEO premium, will this issue be solved 100% without having to delete Polylang?
Because I’ve already put a lot of work in translating everything with Polylang and I can’t go to another translation plugin now.
I don’t want to pay for the premium SEO plugin and still have the same issue.. if you understand me.
So I need to be sure that this can be solved if I go to premium.Thank you!
Hi @asmadahmani,
Getting premium technical support is only one option. If you’d like to receive personal support over email and allow us to check your site, you have the option to purchase a subscription for?Yoast SEO Premium. If we are not able to resolve any issue, or if you do not wish to use it, we do offer refunds after 30 days in our refund policy.
If that’s not an option at this time, we recommend taking the following actions:
1. We noticed that the site has Yoast SEO 14.0 installed. Please confirm that all of your plugins and themes are up-to-date. If you’re not using the latest versions of Yoast SEO 15.1.1 or WordPress 5.5.1, for example, does updating solve the problem?
2. The product sitemap is showing invalid URLs, so there may be other configuration issues or conflicts causing the problem.
Please reset and reindex the Yoast SEO data on your site by following the steps below:
- Install and activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
- Click the “Reset indexables and migrations” button
- Go to SEO -> Tools and under “Optimize SEO Data” click the “Start SEO data optimization” button.
Does the error still appear?
2.?If there is still a problem, please check for conflicts.
You can do a test to see if this still happens if you?deactivate all plugins except for Yoast SEO and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?You can activate plugins like Polylang, WooCommerce, and then your theme one-by-one until the error appears.
We recommend doing this on a staging site or using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin.
We have a step-by-step guide here:?How to check for plugin conflicts.
Hello Priscilla,
1. I tried all different versions of Yoast SEO, but with all the same issue appears. I have WordPress 5.5.1 and my theme is updated.
2. I just tried the Yoast Test Helper and when clicking on ‘Start SEO data optimization’ button it doesn’t work and it says:
“Oops, something has gone wrong and we couldn’t complete the optimization of your SEO data. Please click the button again to re-start the process.”
Maybe this has something to do with the issue I’m facing? As this button doesn’t even work.
3. I already used the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin two days ago.
I used another theme, added Woocommerce, Yoast SEO and the issue didn’t appear, then I added Polylang and I had the issue.
Also when adding first another theme, Woocommerce and Polylang there’s no issue and when adding Yoast SEO the issue appears.
Hi,
We understand you have multiple issues. They are all expected to be unrelated. We have responded to each below.
A. I received today an automatic email from WordPress, warning me that the plugin Yoast SEO caused a fatal fault.
We are not sure if this is or is not related. Can you send us the error message you got? You can copy/paste it here.B. Oops, something has gone wrong and we couldn’t complete the optimization of your SEO data. Please click the button again to re-start the process
If you check for JavaScript errors do any appear on that page in the backend? They should appear in red. Can you describe them or take a screenshot? If you are not sure how to look for JavaScript errors please use this guide https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/.You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.
C. Polylang Site Title Issue
We tried to reproduce the issue on our testing site with Yoast SEO v15.1.1, WordPress v5.5.1 and Polylang v2.8.3 with the following add-ons activated: https://ibb.co/Nn6wgyw.NOTE: We did not activate LingoTek Translation.
When we did that, the right title appeared as expected. See image which shows the right title appearing in the primary language, Dutch: https://ibb.co/rbdg15z.
We then translated it into an English page and the right title appeared as expected in this image: https://ibb.co/4jbK4xF.
While you may need to purchase a copy of Yoast SEO Premium so we can investigate more, we would like a little bit more information.
1. The information in A and B above may help us. Please let us know what they are.
2. Did you install any Polylang add-ons? Did you install and use LingoTek on your site?
3. Are you using the free Polylang or the pro version?

This is the message:

thrownB. I have just upgraded the plugin to Yoast SEO 15.2 and now the ‘SEO Data optimization’ button works.
I’ve just ran it, and I’m still facing the same issue.C. I use the Free Polylang version, and the following plugins:
– Lingotek Translation
– Hyyan WooCommerce Polylang IntegrationBut, when I was using the Health Check & Troubleshooting, I didn’t activate neither of these plugins only the free version of Polylang together with Woocommerce and Yoast SEO and I already had this problem. (Woocommerce and Polylang alone the issue didn’t appear and with Woocommerce and Yoast SEO alone it also didn’t appear -> only with Yoast SEO and Polylang together)
Hi @asmadahmani,
Thanks for taking the time to send us more details. We know that finding a solution, in this case, is difficult because this error isn’t something that we’ve been able to reproduce using Yoast SEO, Polylang, or WooCommerce.
Since you’ve completed all the troubleshooting steps and confirmed that there’s a problem with Yoast SEO and Polylang on your site, it looks like we’ve confirm that the extra text in titles is due to something specific to the settings on your site.
If you continue testing and find the source of the bug in Yoast SEO or find the settings necessary to reproduce this error on a new site, you’re welcome to create a new forum topic or submit a new bug report on GitHub for our developers with the new information.
As a workaround, you may be able to remove the text using custom code to edit the SEO titles. We have more details about using the
wpseo_title
filter to customize Yoast SEO’s output in the developer documentation here: Yoast Metadata API.We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
