T4B loads, but no custom text is displayed

    First, thanks for developing a plug-in simple enough for our purpose.

    We have a 180 word list of clients we would like to scroll across the top of our website.

    “Enable” is checked.

    “Ticker” is selected.

    “Custom Text” is selected.

    I was unable to load and save the text without also creating a link (which we don’t need), so I entered our homepage.

    I don’t understand the other two fields, but have chosen 1000 ms for both “animation speed” and “time between the fades” (which we don’t need). I have tried many different speeds, and have left the fields blank.

    Can you suggest a solution?

    With more tinkering, I find that if we reduce the text to only as many characters as will fill the window, it is possible to have that text display. Not much help for mobile devices, and we still can’t the text to move (Scroll, Ticker, whatever). There are minor other problems, i.e. the Title “Aligns Top” while the text “Aligns Bottom”, but if nobody monitors the messages here it doesn’t much matter. Can anyone suggest a plugin which will scroll text across a page (We were using Gopiplus, but they don’t respond to request for help either.)

    We must be trying to use this in a way you didn’t intend, because I still can’t get any movement with any setting. The alignment of the lettering is now good, though we preferred the black background on the title.

    You can change the background by editing CSS file. You will find CSS file inside assets >> css folder. There you will get t4bnewsticker.css and ticker-style.css files. Open both css files in an editor and search for #dd3737. Make it #000000 for black background.

    I don’t know why are you not getting any movement! If you give me the page link where the ticker is loading, it will help me to find out the reason.

    If there is more text than will fit in your window, nothing shows up in the field. So I shortened the list to three clients – we would ultimately like to have about 40.

    Download the plugin again. I have updated scroll jQuery. Hopefully, it will work now.

    I’ve gone to my host to delete the entire plug-in, but still have the same settings in place when I download and reinstall. Nothing changes as far as operation. It would seem that I need to manually delete whatever file(s) you updated. Instructions on where to find it (them)? Name(s)?

    Maybe it’s a propagation issue. I’ve deleted everything again, and will wait a day before reinstalling.

    If you have no problem, you can give me the logon access in your WP admin at realwebcare at the rate of gmail dot com.

    The problem is, you have paste the shortcode in wrong place. You have to paste the shortcode in between <body> section, not in <head> section. Correct it, your ticker will run properly.

    It’s a beautiful thing! I had used the same location as a previous plugin, and never considered that as a potential problem.

    Meanwhile, when you requested access, it reminded me that I hadn’t backed up our site in a very long time. That has led to two days of problems which we needed to resolve with our host.

    So, this has all been very productive, and I appreciate you hanging in there to solve all the issues. Are you sure you don’t accept donations?
