System req all pass, but test connection fails…

    Hi, all. I’m hoping someone can shed some light on my issue…

    I get as far as all points passing systems check. But when I try to test connection, I get the following…

    DATABASE CONNECTION FAILED!
    Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)

    I have tried adding a manually created database (in GoDaddy…), but to no avail, and may be implementing the one I created improperly.

    Anyone had this problem?

    Also starting in version 0.4.3 you can add a port number to your path if your hosting provider requires it…

    I have uploaded by ftp to my host server and get this system requirements failure message:

    Root Directory Fail
    Path: /sites/lotpropertymanagement.co.uk/www
    [Fail] Is Writable
    [Pass] Contains only one zip file.
    Result = 5123554d6cfd08209_19022013lotpropertymanagementuk_package.zip
    Manual extraction still requires zip file

    What next?

    I have written several times to my host and am getting run around in circles.

    What can I get them to do inorder to finish the install?

    I have also set this up with another host and system requirements fail on Safe Mode Off. I checked with the php settings and Safe Mode was set on On. I switched it to off and am awaiting the hosts to do the next step. Was that correct?

    – If you want a host that works well with the plugin and one that I do all of my testing on here are some that I use…

    As far as your hosts Safe Mode settings, I’m not 100% sure every host has different ways in which they manage the php.ini settings. On some server you have to restart the web-server, but that isn’t always the case…

    Thanks for the advice.

    As for servers, I am limited because of the domain names and country laws. I have to host .fr in France for example and the same with .co.uk etc otherwise I would ahve hosted in the US and wouldn’t have this awful problem.

    What I have had to do is unzip the Duplicated WordPress site and manually load it to the server via ftp, next step I just hope all the posts/ media etc will function?

    I have manually loaded all the files to my server via ftp and although the theme works, itz appears I have lost all the custom posts, pages, views and media?

    Can I retrieve these?
