Syntax errors not caught and Error 500 or 503 when saving

  • FYI In the last few weeks I have been frustrated by an occasional error code 500 or 503 when trying to save a snippet: “Could not create snippet. Request failed with status code 500” it can also bring down my site.

    I also noticed that occasionally a snippet would refuse to activate even though no syntax errors were caught … but a close visual inspection of the code would find an error that was not highlighted. Once fixed and saved, I could activate the code as usual.

    I rolled back to version 3.6.5.1 and it seems to resolve the uncaught syntax problem (i.e. errors that were not caught on current release were caught with 3.6.5.1). I have not seen the 500 or 503 error since the rollback.

    I’ll stay at 3.6.5.1 for now but I’ll keep checking the change logs to see if you post anything related.
