    Hello,

before buying Elite version I tried to generate Facebook Dynamic Ads feed with the free version of your plugin. After I did this, I checked my product feed with Facebook’s Product Feed Debug Tool and got some errors:

    1. Syntax error on line 1 (which contains this line: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.)

    2. Also there are invalid character errors on other lines between <g:link> and </g:link>:
    https://example.local/katalogas/pirstines-juodos-l-dydis/?adTribesID=L7qP78XZXfzEeXCm4mriAVuvjh6B6Jpy|adtribes|3278&utm_source=Facebook%20Dynamic%20Ads%20/%20Instagram%20Remarketing&utm_campaign=FB%20DA%20test&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=3278
It seems that Facebook’s Product Feed Debug Tool don’t like these particular parts of such lines: &utm_source, &utm_campaign, &utm_medium and &utm_term, because they are marked in red color.

BTW, I generated my feed on local version of the site (not on the live site).

Could you please advise what should be done to escape those errors while generating the product feed?

    Thank you.

  • Hi wpwerk,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your Facebook feed.

As pretty much all our users add UTM parameters to their feeds and nobody is experiencing similar issues as you do my guess is that something else is wrong.

Would you be so kind as to send us the debug.log of the plugin? It will help us understand how you have configured your product feed for Facebook. Instructions on how to retrieve the debug.log can be found here: https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/

    All the best,
    Eva

    Hello,

I just sent the email to [email protected] with debug.log file and some additional information. I’m not sure you would be able to see it either way as my issue appeared on local version, not on live site.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

    Hi,

Thanks, I received your email. We’ll take it from there.

    All the best,
    Eva

I also have invalid characters in my Google Shopping feed. The invalid character is “&”. Google does not allow that character. When I manually replace it with a pipe, “|” using notepad, the feed works fine. Product Feed Pro generates incorrect syntax.

Closing issue from wpwerk. There was no syntax error, user copied/pasted XML including file headers into a validator which, obviously, returned errors.

pretzelogic your issue won’t be related so please open a new topic for it. We will take it from there.

    Best,
    Eva
