• Dear All,

I spent literally entire week Googling and trying to figure out how we can use our own domain for a WordPress running on Synology DSM 7.x and remove ‘wordpress’ from the URL.

I have my domain leading to wordpress site, but only with wordpress in the URL:

    ‘domainname.com/wordpress ‘

Like so many, I would like to access my site as: ‘domainname.com’, without the ‘wordpress’ addition in the URL.

I have found quite a posts how it should work but I believe all those guides were written prior to DSM 7.

If I understand correctly, after DSM 7 launched, the web root folder got moved to a web_packages folder. And that is where (at least I think) all these guides fail as they explain what to do within the ‘web‘ folder but there’s no reference to ‘web_packages’ folder.

Here are just some of the links, all of which I followed and tried but I was unable to access my site without seeing wordpress in the URL:

Synology: Domain Access from /wordpress Instead of Main Domain

How to Host a WordPress Website on a Synology NAS!

I am going crazy after so many hours and no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
