Syncs Have Stopped Working…. Again.

    Just when I think I have this Square plugin whipped, it comes right back and bites me.

    Well, my client has informed me that nothing since some time this past December has any new inventory in his Square synced to WooCommerce. He has hundreds on new items in stock he has put in Square.

    • Latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce, and WooCommerce Square
    • Yes, they have SKU’s assigned in Square
    • Yes, I have disabled all plugins with the exception of WooCommerce and WooCommerce Square
    • Yes, I have used the default theme
    • Status report shows nothing wrong that would prevent items from syncing

    I am willing to grant administrative access to support for this site. His shop was just featured in the news and I’m sure he would like to get all his inventory live on the site.

    @underclass I disconnected Square, uninstalled the WooCommerce Square plugin, reinstalled it, reconnected it to Square and then ran the sync from WooCommerce > Settings > Square then scrolled near the bottom and clicked the button “Import all products from Square”.

    NOTE: This button needs to be clicked whenever new products are added into your Square account. The update function only sync products between the two that have already been imported to keep inventory/stock changes in sync, it doesn’t actually bring over NEW products in your Square inventory.

    They should make it an option to have new products pulled in automatically rather than manually. Just a simple checkbox to make it an automatic process that triggers with the update process. Still, even this isn’t consistent which is why I had to reinstall/reconnect. Even that button wasn’t working correctly.

    Thanks for the information, unfortunately the same thing is happening.

    The log does show each time the scraping of the customer info that is in Square, but nothing else.

    I would also verify that the servers www user/group (usually www-data:www-data) has the appropriate read/write permissions (755) for the folder that WooCommerce Square is installed in.

    Could you copy and paste your WooCommerce Status here? Also try to run an import sync with logging turned on then copy the results of that log file to pastebin.com and share the link to the pastebin here?

    @underclass Hmm… I didn’t really see any red flags from those logs. Are the inventory items in Square multi-variable? The WooCommerce Square plugin will not import multi-variable items.

    Turns out there was a bunch of things wrong on the server that were preventing communication with square properly. There seems to be a timeout issue, so raising that with the square team.
