Syncing errors – some products no longer syncing

Hi,
Working on a woocommerce site for a client. We have set Square to be System of Record and it is syncing. In the log on the update page though it keeps showing errors claiming that products that it synced at least once now no longer match in Square. It looks like these products have had their SKU changed to barcodes from their original SKU in Square but surely that should not prevent them syncing any longer?
Do I change the record in Woocommerce to reflect the change in SKU? Will that make them match?
The message in the Square Sync history is product xxxx not found in Square.
What do I need to do to get them to match up again and sync correctly?
I have the debugging log going but it doesn’t show anything about the records that aren’t syncing properly.
