I’ve created my own (bare bones) theme for my wp stie.
The site is currently running on a local drive only.

in the wp dashboard, I’ve made changes and customized the theme a bit, like added pages and customized the menu to point to various pages.

When I open sublime to make other changes, none of the changes I’ve made in wp are visible. When I make a change in sublime, it immediately reflects in wp and on the site.

How do I sync (save) in the reverse? meaning, when I make a change using wp, how do I get it to show in the theme on my local drive?

  • @adolaize Theme changes are saved in the database, so if you’d like to have your local environment use the data that’s in the production database, you’d need to periodically pull the database down to your local environment so you can see the changes there.

If you have access to phpMyAdmin, you can run an export from there, and copy the database files into your local database. You’ll then need to run a search/replace to replace all of your production URLs with your local URL. This guide may be about to walk you through the process.
