    Hi

What is the sync interval time for syncing products and orders to Mailchimp using this plugin?

Is it executed with the cron-function?

    Thanks

  • Hey there @mathiasvissers

Thanks for your post. MailChimp For WooCommerce will sync 5000 products at a time. However, the speed of this syncing can vary based on various factors such as the plugins installed on the site and other background processes running on the site.

Just to get some context, are you seeing any issue with your own site’s syncing? I’d be glad to take a closer look if you’d like to provide a bit more information with the behavior you’re experiencing.

If you need further help, don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Hi

What I mean, when I (in my wordpress) go to Settings –> Mailchimp –> tab Sync.

The “last updated” date doesn’t change until I click sync manually.

The problem with that is that my e-commerce orders aren’t coming in quick enough in Mailchimp itself to start the automatic mailing flows.

So my question is: why isn’t it synching automaticly, for example, every hour?

    Hey @mathiasvissers

Thanks for that clarification. I can shed some light on what to expected from that Last Updated timestamp.

The Last Updated timestamp is only going to refer to the initial syncing between the store and the MailChimp list. After the initial syncing to backfill purchase data to your MailChimp list, that timestamp will not update.

Regarding automatic syncing, the MailChimp For WooCommerce integration does not sync regularly, and only syncs when specific actions are made in WooCommerce. This includes when a purchase made, when a shopping cart is abandoned, or when an order is manually updated from within WooCommerce’s admin panel.

To pull it all together, the 5000 products at a time is only referring to the initial syncing that backfills purchase data to the MailChimp list. After the sync has completed, there are not any ongoing processes that run to sync data.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Hi

    Thank you for the clarification.

That being said, the automation mails aren’t being send, but I maybe have to create a support ticket at Mailchimp itself, not?

    Thank you for your time.

    Following.

After setting up when I did a test order, did a few, then noticed all the test users show up on the list in mailchimp. Noticed the delay, testing now to find timing of delay.

Thanks for this info: This includes when a purchase made, when a shopping cart is abandoned, or when an order is manually updated from within WooCommerce’s admin panel.

@mathiasvissers Yes, I would go ahead and open a support ticket with MailChimp Support. They should be able to take a look at the Automation that isn’t sending to troubleshoot for any other factors specific to your account. Here’s a link from their Knowledge Base on creating a support ticket to help get started: https://kb.mailchimp.com/accounts/management/mailchimp-support-options

@techmichelle Thanks for chiming in! You are absolutely correct. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or want to share any thoughts about those syncing speeds.
