• Hello,

I run the site septictank-supplies.co.uk currently on OpenCart. Many have told me of the joys of wordpress and I’m interested in switching over as I am not too happy with OpenCart but I have a few questions.

Do you think it will be a difficult task to swap my site over?

Can WordPress list all my products?

Can I see a demonstration of the back end?

Thanks in advance for your help.

That’s impossible to answer. It very much depends upon the complexity of the your current & new sites plus your skills with PHP, HTML & CSS.

With a suitable ecommerce plugin, yes.

Can I see a demonstration of the back end?

Only if you install WordPress somewhere yourself.

Hi Esmi, thanks for the reply. I understand it is difficult for you to say without having seen how my site is built but as I have little experience with computer code I have contacted a local development company who have quoted me £2500 to swap the site over.

    I have two more questions:

    1. Do you think this is reasonable?

    2. What features will I benefit from on WordPress that I don’t already benefit from on OpenCart.

    Rob.

Please tread carefully and avoid discussing item’s such as “how much” or “I’ve a quote for” as topics that discuss payment like that are shut down quickly.

That’s done to prevent these forums from becoming spammy. I’m not closing this topic at this time but again tread carefully.

Item number 2 is a fair question I think and hopefully you’ll get a reply regarding that. ??

Excuse me, I will not discuss such things in the future.
