• I’ve decided to use a static home page but I’m confused as to how it gets implemented.

I have page already created, called Front Page, currently stored in draft format. When I go the relevant admin page to alter to a static home page and select Front Page as the home page, it’s not listed as a choice, I assume because it’s in draft mode?

I don’t want to make it public yet as it will appear in the sidebar, so how do I get around this? I want to be able to test the site out first.

I also note an addition to the admin page that asks me to choose a Posts page. How does this work?

I assumed that I would create a post as usual and then put a link into the Front Page, so what’s this Posts page for?

  • “Yes, it’s not listed as a choice, because in draft mode only you have access to this page. You need to publish this page.

If you don’t want to other people see your site when you develop it- you can use plugin like “”WP Maintenance Mode””.”

    Hope it helped
