We’ve been using this great plugin for several months however occasionally when editing the layout of pages such as ‘Single Post Template’ or ‘Homepage’ the page goes to a 502 (Bad Gateway) Error page.

This sometimes knocks the whole website out for several minutes which obviously is a major issue.

When hunting for the fault, we’ve disabled all plugins and found that as soon as you turn on Facebook Thumb Fixer the fault happens, with all plugins working and not editing either of those two pages the site works faultlessly. Go to edit those pages and it stops. Do the same but have your plugin disabled and it works fine. We’ve tested this multiple times and can conclude that it must be this plugin doing something….

Please can you look into this or contact us to see it first hand etc.

We’re using 3.5.1 for reference on 4.3.1 wordpress hosted with WP-engine.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Discowill,

I’ll be honest and say this sounds like it’d be a lot of troubleshooting and work for something that sounds like it’s only isolated to your particular theme and set-up.

For something that I give away and maintain for free, it wouldn’t be realistic for me to investigate this. If however there were several people with the exact same problem (FYI this is the first time I’ve heard of what you described in the history of 82,000+ activations for this plug-in) that might be a different story.

My best suggestion is to use an alternative plug-in for handling your open graph needs. There are several out there, many far better than mine. I hear Jetpack handles that sort of thing – but I’m not entirely sure.

Alternatively you could fork the plugin to make your own instance to try and solve the issue in-house. It is open source after all ??

Thanks for taking the time to let me know all the same, and good luck!
