Switching Hosts and Recovering a Site
-
Ok, here is my story… I am new with WordPress.
I helped my company moving from one web host to another one. I was aware of them having a WordPress blog for their site as a link (www.sitename.com/wp).I tried logging in, and installed the CloudSafe365 WP plugin. Then I tried backing up the Database, which gave me a file in this format filename.sql.gz. I thought it was done and I was going to be able to recover the content of the blog.
After all the “switching hosts and DNS info” happened, I put the files as they were saved before, in a wp folder, back in the site. After failed attempts to logging to phpMyAdmin, create a database, and import the sql.gz file, I tried reinstalling WordPress (overwriting files in the existing wp folder).
To make a long story short, I tried “Recovering” the database using the CloudSafe365 WP plugin (for some reason, this plugin was still there) but it does not let me pull-up local files (filename.sql.gz).
I REALLY need the content back but at this point I am not sure what to do… Any HELP would be greatly appreciate it!
THANKS in ADVANCE!!!!!!P.S: I can still have access to my old web hosting files saved in the wp folder of the site, if that helps!
