• I’m in the process of switching from pixelpost to wordpress, I managed to get all my posts into wordpress, with the help of Jeff Mahoney’s script.
My questions is, how do I switch without loosing folks who are following my rss feed, and who have links to 4+ years of blog posts?
My current thinking is to leave the old blog in place, and add the new wordpress blog in a seperate directory, and add links to the new blog. Any other tricks that would help transition people to the new blog?

  • Add an .htaccess 301 redirect to point your old feed to your new one.

Do you have any tips on 301-ing all photo/page requests?
I tried to set up a 301 to redirect all index.php?showimage=xx to /?p=xx
as WP uses, but it did not work, maybe it interferes with the WP redirects or so.

What would be the correct 301 in .htaccess? I imported all PixelPost posts into WP (with the same post ID’s) and am ready to switch once I can figure out how to redirect the old request to WP.
    Thanks in advance, Cheers, Bike
