    Hi Guys,

I’m seeing a lot of failed payments while using the Stripe plugin from Woo. I have not changed anything and it seems to happen more and more. No, I don’t have lots of disputes and no, these are not “insufficient funds” errors. Most are “do not honor” codes, even for customers who have paid us many times.

We use Woosubs and I’m wondering:
    1. If there are any advantages to switching to your plugin (for, example, could we have a different dunning depending on the fail code. Or, could we use Apple pay and the google equivalent for subs)
    2. Obviously we have many sub customers already, so how would the switch work and is it even viable?

    Thanks in advance
    Marlon

    Hi @marlonsabala

    1. If there are any advantages to switching to your plugin (for, example, could we have a different dunning depending on the fail code. Or, could we use Apple pay and the google equivalent for subs)

I don’t like to compare one solution to anther but here are some things this plugin supports.

    – Apple Pay as a separate gateway that can be enabled on product pages, cart page, or checkout page
    – GPay as a separate gateway that can be enabled on product pages, cart page, or checkout page
    – Ability to enable Apple Pay and GPay on individual products or all products globally.
    – WooCommerce Blocks support
    – Buy Now Pay Later options such as Afterpay and Klarna.

Are you asking if this plugin supports subscriptions through Apple Pay and GPay? If so, the answer is yes.

    2. Obviously we have many sub customers already, so how would the switch work and is it even viable?

This plugin will automatically process subscriptions that were created using the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin. So processing existing subscriptions won’t be an issue.

    Thank you very much,

This does look like a great plugin. I did play with it a little on my staging site.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to support debit cards. Did I get that right?

    Hi @marlonsabala

What made you think this plug-in doesn’t support debit cards?

The credit card gateway is for credit cards and debit cards.

    Kind regards

    Hi again,

First of all, I’m happy it does ??

I only saw references to “credit” cards everywhere on the plug-in. Even the default label in the stripe gateway settings says “credit cards” whereas the woo plug-in says credit/debit cards.

As a customer I would not assume the store accepts debit cards if the label said only “credit cards”. At least for someone living in Europe.

Either way, I’m glad it does accept it ??

One question: We use trial periods and temporary discounts (so the recurring payment can change after X number of months). Does that sort of thing work with Apple Pay?

And a final question if I may: what is the motivation behind the creation of this plug-in? Is this supported by Stripe itself?

Don’t get me wrong, I think this is excellent and I’m really considering a move from the Woo one, but since I don’t see an upsell anywhere and the plug-in seems so well maintained, I’m wondering what is the motivation?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @marlonsabala,

Even the default label in the stripe gateway settings says “credit cards” whereas the woo plug-in says credit/debit cards.

That’s easily changed using the title option in the Credit Card Settings page. You can make that text say whatever you would like.

One question: We use trial periods and temporary discounts (so the recurring payment can change after X number of months). Does that sort of thing work with Apple Pay?

Yes, trial periods are supported by Apple Pay. This plugin fully integrates with WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Is this supported by Stripe itself?

Payment Plugins is a verified Stripe partner so there is motivation to keep this plugin maintained. As you can see from our user base, it has wide adoption.

    Kind Regards,
