Hi Jeff. The latest update to WordPress 5.9.1 has created a problem on one of my websites where I use Classic Editor plugin.

Even though the plugin has been set up correctly, I’m not able to see the posts or pages in Classic and have to use Block Editor and then access the classic format.

I’d like to switch to this plugin. A quick question – when I deactivate Classic Editor and install Disable Gutenberg, will I have any loss of formatting or information? My website is an old one with a customized theme.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi @vshukla, there shouldn’t be any issue or lost information. The two plugins perform the same basic functionality. But to be safe just make a backup of your database before the switch. Then if anything weird happens you can roll back and restore things, etc.

Hi Jeff. It didn’t work and I still have the same problem. I can see the Add New Classic version for both posts and pages but I can’t use classic editor. I even disabled Classic Editor and WP Fastest Cache to see if either was causing the problem but nothing.

I can see the Add Title bar and then under it for Editor it is blank with the instruction to switch to Block Editor.

    Please help.

Hi Jeff. Updating to let you know there was a plugin conflict and the moment I deactivated it, Disable Gutenberg started to work – like a dream. Seems that plugin has created a problem for others too.

Thanks again. Delighted to use this plugin.
