Hi, I want to switch from AMP for WP to AMP (Offical plugin) so I can accommodate compatibility with amazon associates plugin (recommendation…).

Has anyone done it? Can I expect any problems.. or its just matter of deactivating one and installing AMP plugin?

Also, my current AMP pages have https://www.website.com/topic/amp structure? Is it the same in AMP plugin?

Is it possible that this will affect my current ranking in search results?

    thanks

  • Thanks for reaching out. I don’t have experience implementing the Amazon Associates Plugin, so I can’t be sure of full compatibility. The developers should be able to assist in advance of any purchase.

If you use AMP in standard mode there will be no /amp or ?amp. This mode ensures your site is fully AMP, without any query parameter. If you’re using the plugin in transitional or reader mode your AMP URLs will end in /amp or /?amp, although there are plans to allow users to change the structure as you’ll find below:

Providing all your URLs resolve to a valid URL there should be no impact, in particular as you already have a non AMP version independent of your current AMP URLs. You can always perform a recrawl within Search Console after switching.

Thank you James for useful reply

No problem at all, feel free to get in touch if you have any further queries. And be sure to checkout the plugins website for FAQs and supporting documentation.
