• Our theme was put together by a designer who now won’t respond to us. Wondering if anyone knows how to switch from using a custom pagelines theme to using a regular theme. I’ve installed a theme and switched to it and the pagelines theme is gone, but there isn’t anything else in it’s place. I’ve switched back to the pagelines theme for now, but would really like to use something else without losing all our posts.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

There is no easy steps to do this as you will have to recreate the old theme’s style and functionality on the new theme of your choice.

If you do not have the expertise to convert this you will need to contact a developer who can reproduce the page lines theme style in your new selected theme.

apluslphoto, no matter what theme you choose for WordPress, ALL your posts and post data will stay intact.

Themes are just a way of showing the post data.

Thanks Simon – I’ve hoped they weren’t going anywhere. But when we had our site redesigned and the designer switched to pagelines we lost all the content to our old posts. Posts were still there just nothing in them. SO I’ve been worried.

And Dwain, I’m fine with all the functionality issues. Don’t care about the style issues, looking for a total change. But still can’t figure out how to use any other theme. Nothing works except for pagelines. Activating a different theme leaves me with a completely blank window when I go to my blog site.
