• Hi,
I’ve just revamped my Aussie Diary site, playing around with a 1024px theme. It’s totally not ‘compliant’ and is full of ‘divitis’, ‘classitis’ and smothered in tables – these are not issues with which I’m terribly concerned (I may bother later – just playing at this stage). I’ve only got the homepage utilising the 1024 width – after that, it reverts back to an 800 width – easier for reading text? And I figure, why offer too much distraction once a reader is on a ‘post’? Dunno. What d’ya reckon? On the homepage, under the left-hand menu, there’s a ‘theme-switcher’, so you can compare the previous ‘800’ layout with the new ‘1024’.
    cheers,
    kier

  • I like the theme switcihing idea, because sometimes you just can’t utilise the width of 800px enough for front page-like content.

In general the formatting of the whole thing is looking very nice. However, your 800px theme is ‘centered’ whereas the 1024px one is on the left, in my view it would look better if you could centre the 1024.

    But aside from that, nice!

I might even consider adding a 1024 option to my site now! https://www.btccaction.co.uk
