switched hosting acct to new domain, now can’t log in to WP

  • Hi All,

    I switched my hosting (with WP installed) to a new domain name, and forwarded the old domain to the new one. It forwards just fine. The site comes up, but when i go to login to admin i put in the info, click “login” and the page just refreshes – no error message.

    Go Daddy has looked at everything and cant find an issue. Any thoughts?

    I tried updating the password in phpadmin but it continues to do the same thing. No login, no error message, just refreshes the page.

    Uploaded fresh wp-login.php file. nothing changes.

    Hi, did you call at least 3 times to godaddy? some techs are better than others.

    When you switched hosting, The new domain may not work with the old data base.

    Backup your godaddy wp database and then create a new database on the server your domain is, you may need to re- run the config and then upload all your content. There may be an easier way, but this is really not my specialty.

    Thanks possum. I’ve already deleted the whole thing and will reinstall wp and upload my backup. Thanks again.
