    I can switch to a user just fine.
    But then when I want to switch back to my Admin account, there is nothing to click on. The black bar at the top is gone. Nothing that says switch back.

    So I can hit my back button and it looks like it takes me back to my admin on WP but when I try to switch to someone else it says “Could Not Switch Users”. So I hit the back button again and it looks like it takes me to my admin screen, but then when I click on anything else on the left side in the menu, it shows me “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” Which I guess it means I’m still in the users account. I have to log out and log back in under my admin account. So I think I’m missing the “Switch Back” link. Cleared cookies and cache, no difference.

    It sounds like you may have some caching issues on your site.

    If you manually visit wp-login.php there will be a Switch Back link shown there.

    John

    I have the same problem after switching to a different user and Switch Off too. I was able to see the return link after manually type in wp-login.php at the address bar, but is there a fundamental way to solve the problem?

    Thank you.

    Best regards

    Hi John,

    Great plugin!

    Switch back feature is confusing. Do we have to manually append wp-login.php to url every time we want to switch back. Shouldn’t there be a switch back link in place that can be clicked or is it there and our theme is just overriding it?

    Thanks ??

    User Switching adds a Switch Back link to several places:

    * The user profile menu in the admin toolbar
    * The Meta widget
    * The footer of your site, if neither of the above are shown
    * The login screen

    Sometimes unfortunately the link in the footer can be hidden by styles in your theme.

    Hi John, the first 3 options are showing and in order to access the login screen option we need to manually change the url. Any way to make a switch back link directly accessible even if the theme overrides the footer?

    Thanks!

    It sounds like there’s a plugin on your site which is causing the login link to be broken. Can you try deactivating your other plugins to see if the problem goes away?

    the theme footer seems to be causing the problem. Switched to Twenty Seventeen and was able to see the switch back link. Any workarounds for this?

    Also, after clicking switch back link, need 2 additional clicks to get back to users list – would be nice to go straight back to users list after clicking on “switch back” link.

    Thanks!
