Swift Mailer: Failed to authenticate on SMTP server…

    Hi,

    I use BackWPup for years and it has always done a great job. However, presumably since the last update to 3.3.6, it cannot send backups to my email address any more. I get the following error message (without any change at the site, the server environment (shared hosting) or the plugin/backup settings):

    FEHLER: Swift Mailer: Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username “[email protected]” using 2 possible authenticators

    Is there anything I can do? What does the error message mean?

    EDIT: The test message works, I checked.

    Alright, it was my mistake. I had used two different email addresses for sender email and SMTP username. Apparently this will no longer be accepted by BackWPup since v3.3.6.
