• Hey all,

I’ve spent a couple days now searching and trying new things, and I can’t get an .swf to load in my site and play an external .flv. For an example of what I’m talking about, https://www.handw.tv/weddings .

I simply use the Flash Video component in my Flash 8 Professional to create a video player that links to an .flv in my website directory. I want that to load in my posts on my blog site. I’ve tried several different plugins to no avail. One plugin worked the very first time, but after that it would never play again (tested on multiple computers). I decided to give in and ask here.

These are not youtube, or myspace videos. These are flash video players that I create myself.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Chris

  • and have you ruled out this being a non-wordpress problem? ie, you have something working on a non wordpress page?

Correct, the link in my original post shows samples of my videos that I’ve done that were not in a wordpress page. The actual video I’ve been trying to link is at https://www.chrismayres.com/wp-video/fireman.swf and if you visit the link you can see it working just fine. I just can’t get it to work in WordPress. I can load an SWF just fine, but the .flv that it’s calling will not load in.

    Thanks

that sounds a lot like a path issue. where is the .swf in relation to the .flv and what exactly are you using to load it? in other words, if you are doing it like the example page, what is the corresponding 123 bits for this:

    <param name="movie" value="123" />...<embed src="123" quality="high" b...
