    Hi there

I have an issue where when I create a new product, select the variation terms (colour and size) it will display the swatches correctly. I will have to create my products through a drop shipping provider and then export them to WooCommerce – inkthreadable. The problem is it is creating the product with it’s own attributes and variations so basically the product is ready and live on export. The name of the attributes and terms are the same as the ones as I have set in Woocommerce settings, yet they appear on product page as drop downs rather than swatches. Any way for the SVI plugin to make a connection that the variants are called the same and treat them as created through WordPress?

    Thanks
    CoachDom

So this product was made through inkthreadable and you can see the colours are a drop down. This product was made through Woocommerce and the colour swatch is displaying correctly

    Hi CoachDom,

Thank you for reaching out. It seems there’s a mix of global and custom attributes for color in your setup. SMart Variations Images relies on global attributes (like attribute_pa_colour) to consistently apply swatches across products. Custom attributes (like attribute_colour), defined at the product level, don’t support this because they vary in formatting and usage, which can lead to errors and performance issues.

To ensure your swatches display correctly, please set Attribute is Taxonomy to 1 in your CSV imports to treat attributes as global. This method avoids the inconsistencies and technical challenges of matching custom to global attributes and maintains optimal site performance.

    Best regards,
    David
