I tried to change the template of an existing page, by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/templates/apply-a-template/ But unfortunately, at step (5) after I click ‘Swap Template’, the window opens but it shows only 2 templates, though I actually have +10 templates in the editor. This issue has been ongoing for months, so I am afraid this is a general issue and not limited to me?.

I tried deactivating all plugins and health check, but no issues.

I use TwentyTwentyThree theme, with WordPress version 6.5.3.

    Potential solutions please?

Hi @delrod – generally the templates that can be swapped would need to be specifically set up as page templates. Is that the case in your instance?

Would you be able to share a screenshot of your template list view so I can take a look?

Hi @jordesign . Thank you very much for the reply!

A screenshot of my templates list: https://ibb.co/G3g8P1r

A screenshot of what I get when I click ‘Swap Template’ in a page editor: https://ibb.co/4NmCbyp

Linking pages to templates has been confusing for me. For instance, I had a template called “Essays” implemented on a page also named “Essays.” However, a few days ago, I edited the page name and its link address to “Articles,” which caused its template to detach. To clarify more, in the first screenshot, one of the templates is classified as ‘Not found’, this is because I edited the page address linked to it. I tried to reattach the template with the page, but there seems to be no option for that.

I understand from the answer above, thankfully, that only page-templates should appear when I click ‘Swap Templates’, but this seems to not happen for me, as seen in the 2nd screenshot, only two templates appear.

Again thanks for looking in it!

Hey @delrod – sorry I hadn’t had a chance to come back to this till now.

When I check for the screenshot of the editor view of your templates – it seems to be not loading. Would you mind sharing it again?
